Today more than ever people are feeling isolated and alone because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We all have had enough Netflix binge watching and social distancing to last us a lifetime. Now is the time to think about some activities that can help ease us out of social isolation. One activity to consider is participating in a Cascardo interactive art mural I have always enjoyed the energy and socialization of engaging people in my art making process. What started off as an activity to engage and inspire children and adults with disabilities became the process I incorporate in creating unique and memorable works of art. Small groups of people to several hundred at a time have participated in my interactive mural making process. People have discovered the joy and meditative benefits of painting side by side without the stress, expectations or fear of making mistakes. I am the “visual conductor” orchestrating the flow of the piece with a black and white design and the simple direction to, “just get rid of all the white”. Commercially my process has helped businesses and corporations promote team building and employee engagement. Groups of people have discovered that my unique process is a creative way of entertaining and engaging guests at their weddings, anniversaries, bar mitzvahs and special occasions. Regardless of the group or occasion, if you are looking for a way to ease out of social isolation consider an interactive mural. I still follow personal protection guidelines until a majority of people are vaccinated by requiring people to wear face masks, distancing each other and cleaning materials between uses. Now is the time to get off the couch and safely get together and have some fun!
